In the beginning,
There was only star dust(as the Evolutionists would have you believe). As aeons passed, these dust particles eventually formed into planets(now this is getting preposterous). Somehow, an organism emerges from inorganic material. You know the rest of the story from here.
Eventually that civilization(which evolved from a slime pool of monkeys and giraffes) becomes highly advanced and sends you to create new life on a barren planet many light years from Earth.
Now you must play God and use various resources and solve many ancient riddles to breath new life into that dessert wasteland(sort of like what many scientists are aching to do with Mars). Aliens are willing to help from a distant galaxy. I guess they too have helped plant the seeds of new life.
